This page is to inform you about side projects I have run and will run in the future. My biggest one was a sponsored hair shave in honor of Maggie. I will post more as time goes on but below is some info about my shave:
This year, my beautiful friend Maggie lost her fight to cancer. In 2013 she was diagnosed with a soft tissue cancer called rhabdomyosarcoma. Approximately a year later, heaven gained an angel. Maggie was beautiful, and I will always consider her my friend. She inspires me to make the most of my life, and to do good for others. Which is why on July 23rd, I shaved my hair in her honor. Many sponsored me to do so, and my total ended up around $800. The money was split between Boston Children's Hospital and her parents organization, a 4o1c nonprofit called Maggie's Beat (www.maggiesbeat.org). For pictures of before and after the shave check out www.instagram.com/charityheadshave , I am also still accepting donations for that project if cancer is something that has touched your life and you would like to support me, visit the contact us page. Please note, this project was my annual summer side project and DuckandDonate is a separate entity still up and running full time to the best of my ability.
Maggie touched many lives, and I was blessed to be one of them. Rest in peace Maggie. I miss you every day.
